PFUJ announces countrywide protests over arrest of Mohsin Baig

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has announced countrywide protests on Thursday against the arrest of senior journalist Mohsin Baig.

Mohsin was arrested on Wednesday from his residence in Islamabad by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) following an FIR lodged by Communications Minister Murad Saeed.

In a statement, PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary-General Nasir Zaidi, while deploring the clandestine arrest of Mohsin Baig asked all union of journalists (UJs) to arrange protest rallies in front of press clubs in all major cities.

PFUJ leaders said that arrest of journalists and torture and using third-grade tactics cannot be accepted. The entire media community is united against such brutality by the current regime headed by Imran Khan.
